On Wednesday April 6, 2011 not long after dawn Blue Moons Dea Artio made her debut! Her dam is Flynt Hylls Rayne Pixie and her sire is Bears Pride of Thornhill Dea Artio is the Celtic Bear Goddess and we thought it was a good name for our filly to honor her sire "Bears Pride" and grandsire "Bear".

| Our filly was nameless for three days, there was lots of going back and forth trying to find a name that three female humans could agree on.... I was talking to Rhianon about the situation and she suggested some goddess names for the foal and I told her it had to be a bear goddess. So a quick check in her book and she found our filly's name. Artio is the Celtic bear goddess, also known as Dea Artio. So in honor of her grandsire Bear and her daddy Bears Pride our filly has been named Dea-Artio, her call name is Tia and surprise, surprise we all agreed on that too! |
